1. Made in Heaven

The first season of Made in Heaven aired on Amazon Prime in March 2019 and was an instant hit. Based on two Delhi wedding planners, the series follows their personal and professional lives. Made in Heaven steals the limelight by showing us the vibrant and glamorous weddings of the Delhi elites, while also discussing issues regarding South Asian social norms.

2. Masaba Masaba

Masaba Masaba, an Indian web series available on Netflix, is quite a cheery show for one which discusses significant issues such as ageism, mental health issues, the dilemmas of desi mother-daughter relationships, peppy celebrity news, etc. With a star casting, this show follows actress Neena Gupta and her daughter Masaba Gupta, who is a fashion designer in this semi-autobiographical web drama. Both stars play a version of themselves, and it is fascinating to follow their stories what with their effortless style of acting.

3. Girl in the City

Girl in the City is India’s very own “Emily in Paris”, except that this show actually has some essence. The show follows Meera Sehgal, played by the talented Mithila Palkar, as she goes from Dehradun to Mumbai to pursue her dream of thriving in the fashion industry. The series shows us Meera’s professional struggles while navigating her way through the city of dreams.

4. Aarya

Seeing Sushmita Sen out of the traditional Bollywood set-up is surprising, and thus even more interesting as she plays the role of the main lead Aarya in this crime thriller. The show builds up to the premise soon enough and is an interesting watch for those who want to explore the world of Indian shows and crime thrillers.

5. Tripling

Three siblings embark on an unplanned road trip and end up bonding and reconnecting emotionally while learning about each other’s messes. Watch this light-hearted and humorous Indian web series and let it feed your wanderlust!

6. Little Things

A sweet love story, Little Things follows the life of a couple cohabitating and the joys and perplexities of a modern-day Indian relationship. Watch this Indian web series if you’re a fan of light-hearted romances and wouldn’t mind crying happy tears for your favorite fictional characters.
