Disney+ Movies and Shows You Need to Watch

Disney Plus is marking its second anniversary, providing us with new premieres and shows.

Undoubtedly Disney+ is only home for momentous classical originals including some of the best Disney movies we grew up watching: Cinderella, Hannah Montana, Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book, Aladdin, Mulan and the list goes on. But ever since their merger with Marvel, we’ve been served even more with content right from the MCU, following up on the stories of the Winter Soldier, the New Captain America, Wanda, Vision, Loki, and a lot more. So here’s a list of Disney+ shows you should be watching if you’re as big a fan of their content as us.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Falcon and the Winter Soldier Story revolves around the story of the mismatched duo and their story as they try to make sense of the World after Captain America chose to stay in the past by the end of Avengers: Endgame. Watch Bucky and Sam go around defeating bad guys that put Captain America’s name to shame, and accept the new responsibilities they now have to accept as their fate catches up to them. Here is its official trailer.

Shang Chi

Played by Simu Liu, the story revolves around agony, betrayal and the magic of martial arts. Shang Chi confronts the mysterious Ten Rings organization led by his father – the past that he promised to leave behind. Released in September 2021, the movie has already become a fan favorite, and we can’t wait to see what more the superhero has to offer in the MCU.

Black widow

This story may seem irrelevant to some, as everyone who has watched Avengers: Endgame knows about Natasha Romanoff’s fate, but it’s still a good look into the Black Widow’s backstory, while also giving us a chance to welcome new characters that may become a part of the MCU’s future.

WandaVision

Perhaps one of the best MCU shows to come out, WandaVision follows our favorite Scarlet Witch and Vision as they live a happily ever after-esque life without anyone coming to disturb them, until you realize what is actually happening. Be mindful of all the events that take place in this show, though, because this may well be the base of the multiverse that we’ve been promised in future MCU shows, starting from Loki and leading up to the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home and Dr. Strange’s Multiverse of Madness. This show also introduces us to Agatha Harkness, a villain much loved by Marvel’s comic book fans.

What If…?

What If is a show that discovers the different possibilities and plots that may have taken place had our original Avengers taken different paths in all the decisions that led up to the events of Infinity War and Endgame, ending up in the demise of a lot of our favorite Avengers.

Hawkeye

This story follows Clint Barton and his 22-year old mentee who aims to become a archer much like Hawkeye himself, or maybe a little better. The show recently released on Disney+ and is already a favorite among fans after just 2 episodes.

Soul

Soul is a much-loved favorite ever since its release, and a collaboration between Disney and Pixar. The movie discovers the question of what makes us “us”? And everything this question entails from the adventure of finding the answer to actually getting to it, with a very wholesome yet emotional journey, as Pixar promises in all of its movies.

Encanto

A musical by Lin Manual Miranda, Encanto stars the B99 favorite, Stephanie Beatriz as she portrays Mirabel, a unique and brave character who jumps to action as her clan faces trouble and needs saving. The movie has been officially released in cinemas and is getting some really positive reviews by critics and fans alike.
