How To Make The Most Of Your Free Time At Work

Being at work doesn’t really mean that you’re busy throughout the work hours. There might come a time when you’re done with all your tasks and have plenty of time until a new task is assigned to you. We’ve come up with a list of things you can do which can benefit you but also keep you busy at your workplace.

1. Cluttered Desk? Clear it Off

A cluttered desk is a sign of an even more cluttered mind. Look at your surroundings and think whether you want all those things around or not. Even if your desk isn’t a mess, you might feel motivated enough to reorganize and personalize your workspace.

2. Find a fun game

Finding a game that isn’t too time-consuming but is also entertaining and gains your attention can be a life-saver. Games such as online one-on-one Ludo, 2048, Sequence, a short game of 8 Ball Pool can really pass your time and keep you from falling asleep at work.

3. Who doesn’t like a walk?

If your work requires sitting behind a desk all day then taking a walk is one of the healthiest options for you. You don’t want your blood pooling up around your lower body. It is also a good way to get creative and not get stuck with ideas.

4. Read that book

Have you been wanting to finish a book but just haven’t got the time? Carry around that book and read at least 20 minutes of it per day. This is a really fun way to spend your time productively even if you’re at work. But for those who don’t enjoy reading, you could catch up with or rewatch an episode of that sitcom that you really like.

5. Meditate!

Meditation works wonders for some people. If you’re one of those people, or if you’ve never tried it before, then now’s the time. It can help you stretch and help the creative juices flow. It can also destress your mind and help you be more productive.

6. Doodle

Be creative and start doodling! It can also turn into a hobby if you work on your craft. Keep around a small journal and some colored pens and doodle away!

7. Follow up on those emails

If you’re waiting on some emails and calls, make a list of them and keep it nearby in order to not forget about them and keep yourself organized.

8. Declutter and organize your inbox

Reduce your inbox pile, unsubscribe from irrelevant mail, mark messages read. Anything that helps declutter your inbox can be a huge relief.

9. Listen to that new album you’ve been wanting to

One way to reduce stress at your workplace is doing something that you enjoy. Listening to good music can make your work more fun and also can get you in a good mood for further tasks.

10. Don’t forget to drink water

Keeping yourself hydrated is extremely important, without which you can get tired really easily. So make sure you’re drinking enough water, and keep a filled water bottle next to you at all times.
