When it comes to TV, the people of Pakistan have many opinions regarding what kind of content is currently being aired. The monotonous trends which are followed by dramas are either adored or absolutely despised by people. But almost everyone can agree that old Pakistani dramas were in a league of their own, with amazing dialogues, acting, and also storylines.

Keeping that nostalgia in mind, Puranay.din on Instagram gives us the throwback which everyone deserves. The account has a huge following, around 114k on Instagram, and almost 1.7k on Facebook as well. Puranay din shares clips of famous and favorite dialogues, memes, and throwback posts about all our favorite Pakistani dramas from the past. They also share songs which we used to play on repeat as kids (and still do because, let’s be honest, we still love them just as much today!).

There is something about old Pakistani dramas and entertainment which bring us all together, no matter which cultural background or age group we belong to. The classics still act as a beacon of hope for the creators of Pakistan, as they can aspire to follow their footsteps and create something unique and beautiful. And who doesn’t love reveling the days of the past?  Honestly, we’re loving the throwbacks and the nostalgia!

In their Instagram Highlights, the account also shares old songs, famous dialogues, lists of classic Pakistani dramas which everyone should watch, and also links of these dramas. Here are some of our favorite kind of throwback posts from the account.

1. Throwback to old songs

There are throwbacks to old favorites such as Strings’ Duur, which makes one feel more nostalgic as they listen to it now, especially after Strings’ fall out.

Then there’s very relatable videos like these:

2. Drama Flashbacks

Honestly, I needed these videos to remind me of the golden era of Pakistani TV. Nothing can beat this dialogue between Faraz and Sana from Ankahi.

And then there’s this very obvious lesson about how friendships don’t necessarily have to turn into relationships (thank you, Ayesha Omar).

3. Edits and Memes

Who doesn’t love a TikTok edit of Alpha Bravo Charlie? This edit wins my heart every single time.

4. Advertisements of Yore

In the era of online streaming, advertisements like these seem like an old-school concept. But here’s a reminder that could take you back to the old days:

All in all, Puranay din is doing an amazing job of making us think about what our entertainment industry is missing. One can only hope that Pakistani TV goes back to its old days of creating amazing serials and original music.

Didn’t you just love these throwbacks? Let us know in the comments.
