5 Shows To Watch While You Wait For Stranger Things 4

It’s been more than a year since season 3 of Stranger Things came out, and apart from a teaser that was released in early 2020, there has been no official news whatsoever of when the next season will finally bless our screens.

Now, this wait for a new season wouldn’t have been an issue were we talking about some random show, but we are not. We are talking about the great Stranger things, the mega-hit sci-fi fantasy series; the characters, the nostalgia, and the spooky yet thrilling storyline of which we are deeply invested in. Every season of the show leaves us with a burning void and a yearning for more, whenever it ends. This show literally holds a dear place in our hearts, so it’s impossible not to wait eagerly and anxiously for every new installment.

Frankly, there isn’t anything we can do to bring you the new episodes of the show, but what we can do is recommend you some other shows that have one or more aspects similar to the spooky world of stranger things, the shows that have stranger-things-like vibes, that you can consider watching until the next season hits the screens.

Below is the list of 5 such engrossing shows.

1. Dark (3 Seasons)

Often dubbed as” German Stranger Things” this sci-fi fantasy thriller starts off with a child going missing (sounds familiar, no?) followed by a frantic search for the truth by four interconnected families, with themes of time travel and alternate universes, and layers of buried secrets spanned across generations. This show has tonnes of interesting elements to keep you engaged.

2. Sense8 (2 Seasons)

Another sci-fi fantasy thriller set not in a small town like Hawkins but spanning across the globe, as 8 random individuals living in different parts of the world, with different ethnicities and backgrounds, called  “sensates”, find themselves connected through psychic powers and abilities. Together, they evade and fight the secret government agents bent on severing their connection or killing them.

3. Twin Peaks (3 Seasons)

A murder-mystery with elements of horror and supernatural. The show kicks off as an FBI agent named Dale Cooper arrives in the small fictional town of Twin Peaks to investigate the murder of an innocent high-school girl. Stranger things fans will be reminded a lot of Jim Hopper in this show. It ran for two seasons from 1990 to 1991 and returned for a third season in 2017.

4. The OA (2 Seasons)

A sci-fi fantasy show with elements of supernatural and visits to alternate universes like the Upside Down. The OA follows the story of a girl named Prairie Johnson (also known as The OA), as she returns to her home-town after the mysterious disappearance of 7 years. Prior to her disappearance, she was blind but returns with perfectly functional eyesight. The show delves into her peculiar and secretive story as she recalls it.

5. The X-Files (11 Seasons)

A classic sci-fi set in the ‘90s follows two FBI agents named Scully and Mulder as they set out to seek the truth behind anything and everything, no matter how inexplicable they seem. There are monsters, aliens, government conspiracies, and many other things that fans of Stranger Things would love to watch.

The above-mentioned shows have many elements similar to Stranger Things. We hope they keep you engaged and fill the void until the most anticipated season 4 of Stranger Things arrives. Enjoy!
